Afghanistan - a women's struggle

THE Afghan war needs another face. See the war from a different perspective; the perspective of women and peacemakers.

What is happening on the ground in Afghanistan? Journalists, doctors and aid workers face community issues in attempts to liberate Afghan women from oppression and grow peace. Why are they there? How does it help?

Dr Claire Duncanson, University of Edinburgh Politics and International Relations lecturer, Horia Mosadiq, Amnesty International researcher in Afghanistan, and Firuz Rahimi, BBC Afghan service come together tomorrow lunchtime in St John's Church to discuss all these questions and more.

Saturday 18 August, 12pm-1pm, in the Church at St John's (Venue 127). Buy tickets here or at the venue box office.
